We had such a blast at Tybee Island! It's the cutest little island with so much to do.
The entire island is super bike-friendly, there's really no reason to take your car anywhere. Eli is getting really good on his bike and racked up tons of miles while we were there!
The houses on Tybee range from little cottages built in the 20's like this one on the marsh that we stayed in
to huge brand new homes like this one that overlooks the inlet.
Of course, there's the beach. Since we live by the beach we didn't spend too much time there but we did take a few walks and played a few games of Avatar (a game Jamie made up) there.
We checked out a lighthouse and an old fort (super cool). The house that Layla was decorating used to be the officers mess hall. Neat!
We spent one afternoon in Historic Downtown Savannah. It's beautiful there, it reminds me a lot of downtown Wilmington but larger. There were lots of great shops there. I didn't get into many of them, having a bunch of boys with me and all, but it was still lots of fun!
Speaking of shopping, on Tybee there's a bunch of cute little shops. My favorite was Seaside Sisters. Lots of great stuff there!
We had lunch one day at Uncle Bubba's. Jamie talked like a pirate most of the time we were there. of course, when you are talking like a pirate you MUST have a hook for a hand and one eye closed. Everyone knows that!
We had a blast meeting Layla, Kevin and Layla's mom. James and Kevin talked for the longest time. They are so alike! I thought it might be awkward meeting Layla but we talk so much online that it was like hanging out with an old friend. I love the way the cottage turned out! I could so live there!
Here are a few pics of the wall we did. It took us about 3 hours to install. It required a lot of measuring but we think it turned out pretty good. Check out The Lettered Cottage for more pics of the cottage.
We're glad to be home and back to work now. But, we will be visiting Tybee again, I am sure!
