Memorial Day Sale!

I love Memorial Day weekend.  It marks the beginning of summer and gives us a day to remember those who fought for our freedom.

Most people head to the beach for at least one day of the long weekend but we usually avoid the beach on holidays.  We can go any time, we'll let everyone else have it on Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day!

Instead, we have a family project planned for the weekend.  We're going to install some type of water sculpture type thing (we haven't decided what yet) in the flower garden by the gazebo.  James is picturing something like this~

Since, I am looking to relax over the weekend not work ourselves into a coma, I am thinking something more like this~

I'll be sure to let you know how it goes :)

We may also go blueberry picking (YUM!).  We'll definitely play ladder ball and horseshoes.  And of course, cook out.  Probably go clamming too.    I am pretty sure that clams are an essential part of Memorial Day weekend!

Introducing Traci!

Some of my favorite Mommy Blogs

Being almost Mother's Day, I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce you to a few of my bloggy friends that are moms.

Laura from Piece of Cake is the funniest blog mom I know.  I can't count how many times I have laughed myself to tears reading her posts.  It changes all the time but last time I checked she had three thousand children (don't we all feel like that once in a while?)


Jen from Harried Mom of Four is so sweet and seems to have an abundant supply of patience and energy (May I borrow some, Jen?)

Traci of Beneath my Heart is so wonderful.  She is a SAHM of four adorable little boys that she's teaching the love of family and the Lord.


There's also Jana from The Meanest Mom.  She's so real and funny, I know that you will love her!


There are so many other moms that I love to spend my spare time (hahaha) reading about but I can't share them with you now, I am late for a lunch date with the sweetest 8 year old ever!
